The mission of IMS-VIPNET is to realize a Virtual Production Enterprise Network that will allow the optimum combination of core competencies of enterprises.
The goal of IMS-VIPNET is to build Technology Knowledge Infrastructure making it possible to accumulate, share, utilize, and create information and knowledge over the life cycle of products, technologies, and services, in independent of venders of hardware and software.
The development of a common language (information and knowledge modeling technologies) serves as the base for Technology Knowledge Infrastructure.
This integrates separate information systems through a common information model. Each system will be able to share information by just connecting to this Technology Knowledge Infrastructure (standard plug-in and plug-out).
